About Us

With a strong connection to Chile that was reinforced upon arriving in Melbourne in 2014, entrepreneur Victor Suárez has become the creator of this Chilean event.

In that same year, Victor was crowned the champion of cueca at «Fonda la Clínica,» which allowed him to immerse himself in the world of national folklore. Together with other Chileans, he founded the folk music group «Raza Brava,» specializing in cueca chora, and performed at various venues in Australia, including «Fonda la Clínica,» the Chilean Club of Victoria, restaurants, and festivals during the years 2015 and 2016.

Continuing his passion for Chilean folklore, Victor became part of the organizing committee for COFOX Chile at the Melbourne cueca championship in 2017 and served as a judge at the Australian Cueca Championship in 2018. That same year, he joined forces with two Chilean entrepreneurs to create the «City Fonda 2018,» which was a

resounding success. In 2019, Victor organized a smaller fonda called «La Vitoco Fonda,» providing an intimate and homely setting for compatriots to come together.

The Birth Of The Main Fonda

The year 2022 marked the birth of «La Main Fonda,» an event that left attendees with an unforgettable experience and led to the organization of a «18 Chico», a smaller version of the traditional fondas, to continue the celebrations.

We had the honor of having the Consul present to cut the ribbon that inaugurated the Fonda season (in Chile, this task is performed by the President, designating the venue as the «official fonda»). This solidified our position as the official fonda for Chileans in Australia. Additionally, the event received coverage from Radio ZZZ (92.3 FM Australia), which brought attention to this distinguished event.

Nearly 1000 attendees enjoyed national DJs and bands, authentic Chilean food and drinks, and an atmosphere that transported us to the best Chilean parties. In 2023, Victor will bring us new surprises to share with the Chilean community in Melbourne.
